Smooth Transition to Filevine

Getting our Filevine Document Management set up was straightforward, about a 3-week process with their support, and it integrated well.

Filevine keeps everything locked down

Compared to other legal software I've used, Filevine really stands out for its security. I was looking for something that could handle sensitive client data for my practice, and Filevine gave me peace of mind. Their Automated Workflows have also been a lifesaver, cutting down on repetitive tasks. Getting a discount was pretty straightforward; our sales rep applied it directly when we were getting our quote, which was different from typical coupon codes but worked out well. It feels like a solid investment for managing cases.

Email Integration is Solid, but Needs Refinement

I looked into Filevine primarily for their Email Integration and Custom Reporting. The sales rep was helpful, explaining that discounts are handled during quoting, not through traditional coupon codes. Setting up the email integration was straightforward and syncing emails has been reliable, which is crucial for client communication. Custom Reporting is robust, allowing me to pull specific data fields that other platforms like MyCase don't offer as easily. However, I did notice that while Filevine is powerful, understanding the difference between it and Lead Docket (their lead management tool) takes a bit of time to grasp; it's not immediately obvious how they connect at first glance. Overall, the system has definitely improved our workflow efficiencies by about 25%.

Good features, but pricey

Filevine has definitely upgraded our legal project management. The automated workflows for our mass tort cases are a huge time-saver, and the client portal is a nice touch. We found the initial setup, even with the implementation fee waiver we got, was still a bit more involved than we hoped. While the software itself is powerful and the support team was generally helpful when we called, the annual billing commitment is a significant investment. It delivers on its promises, but it's not a budget option.

Detailed Look: Filevine Implementation

We recently onboarded Filevine for our personal injury practice, migrating from an older system. The initial consultation was thorough, explaining the process clearly. The sales rep was responsive, helping us understand the enterprise pricing and getting us set up. Delivery of access was quick after the agreement was finalized, literally an email with login details. The implementation team assigned to us was very patient during data migration, working through some tricky legacy file formats. Training materials were helpful, though a bit overwhelming at first. We did have a minor hiccup with an Outlook integration setting, but support resolved it within a few hours. The platform itself feels robust for case collaboration and document assembly, and it's definitely improved our workflow. Overall, a good experience that met most of our expectations for such a significant platform change.

Consistent, reliable platform

Another solid experience with Filevine. We added the Demands.ai feature this time, and it integrated seamlessly with our existing setup. Our team picked it up quickly, just like when we first implemented the core practice management. It's good to know we can count on them for consistent performance and straightforward additions without major headaches.

Trying to figure out if there's any way to get a promo code or something. I keep looking but can't find anything online.

N Neil H. 1 month ago
They don't do promo codes like a regular online store. You have to talk to their sales team, they apply any discounts directly to your quote.

R Rosa 1 month ago
Nah, don't waste time looking for codes. It's all done through their sales reps or if you're referred by someone.

Is Filevine actually secure for all the sensitive client data we handle? That's my biggest concern.

N Noor Okafor 2 months ago
They seem to take security really seriously. It's cloud-based but they have a lot of compliance stuff in place for legal data.

C Cody Doyle 2 months ago
Pretty sure they're encrypted and all that. It's specifically built for legal work so I'd expect it to meet industry standards.

Anyone know how long the implementation process actually takes? Their site says 'streamlined' but I'm worried about downtime.

N Nina Patel 2 months ago
Ours was actually pretty smooth, maybe a few weeks for the basics and then ongoing tweaks. They have a good team.

Depends on how much data you're moving over and how complex your firm's setup is. We did it in about a month, but we had a dedicated person helping out.

So, I saw something about discounts for annual billing. How much can you actually save if you pay for the year upfront?

O Omar Torres 2 months ago
It's not huge, but usually like 10-15% off. You have to ask them for it specifically, it's not automatic.

R Rosa Y. 2 months ago
Yeah, you gotta talk to a sales rep. They don't just put those numbers on the site. We got a bit of a deal for going annual.

Heard about Filevine, but I'm also checking out Clio. Is Filevine really that much better, especially for bigger cases?

B Brett G. 2 months ago
For complex stuff like mass torts, Filevine definitely seems more robust. Clio is good for general practice but Filevine handles the big data better.

I think Filevine has a stronger focus on the actual case workflow and document automation, especially if you're dealing with a lot of documents and deadlines.

Hey everyone, thinking about Filevine for my firm. What's the deal with pricing? Is it a flat fee or per user kinda thing?

N Nina J. 2 months ago
From what I remember when we looked into it, it's usually per user, but they're pretty flexible if you talk to their sales folks.
6
M Mark T. 2 months ago
Yeah, it's generally per user, but they tailor quotes. So, no public price list, you gotta get a demo and chat with them to get your specific numbers.

My firm's a non-profit, does Filevine offer any special pricing for us?

F Faith 2 months ago
I believe they do! It's worth reaching out to their sales team. I remember seeing something about non-profit discounts when we were researching.

Yeah, they usually have something for non-profits. Definitely ask for it during your demo.
